Senior Partner of Franklin Associations and Chairman, International Public Relations Partners, Terry has spent his entire career in journalism and PR. Trained as a journalist, he has worked as a Senior Information Officer and Editor for the United States Information Agency in London and Washington. During that time, he edited three publications: Science Horizons, American Economic Report and Insight USA. As a desk officer, he covered, among other things, the Apollo space program and the Vietnam War. After leaving the U.S. government, Terry went on to become the European Managing Director of Hill and Knowlton, then the biggest PR firm in the world; Executive Vice President of Carl Byoir and Associations, the third biggest PR firm in the world; and then Burson-Marsteller, where he headed up their corporate practice. In 1988, he established Franklin Associations, which provides corporate and strategic advice on communications worldwide. During his career, he has represented many Fortune 500 and Times Top 1000 companies. In 2000, Terry was seconded to Publicis and the European Central Bank in Frankfurt, where he was the creative copywriter for the launch of the Euro.
